FAQ

FAQ

  • Do I need to empty out drawers?

Yes. Furniture is not meant to be carried or transported with weight in it. Doing so can cause structural damage to the furniture as well as make it more difficult to move.

  • Do I need mattress bags?

Yes, mattresses should be covered to prevent any dirt from getting on them. We sell 5 mm industrial quality mattress bags from $10 - $25, pending size required if needed. There is no coverage for unprotected mattresses.

  • Do you pad or wrap items?

Yes, we pad (furniture blanket) all items.

  • Do you use floor runners/protection?

Yes, we use floor runners at all locations.

  • Do I need to reserve my elevator?

This is something you will need to ask the condo building about, but 95% of the time the elevator does need to be reserved.

  • What time do you arrive at?

We have two move blocks, morning and afternoon. Morning moves we arrive to between 9:00 - 10:00 am. Afternoon moves we arrive to after our morning moves which can be anywhere between 12:00 - 3:00 pm. We always call

or text when we are 30 - 60 minutes away. We can also do other booking times on slower days if needed such as arriving at 10:00 - 11:00 am for example, available upon request and if our schedule permits it.

  • Can you help me take my beds apart and put them back together?

Yes. This is part of why we charge hourly. We just never know what each move will entail. But yes, we can absolutely help with dis and re assembly of most items.

  • Do you sell packing supplies?

We sell packing supplies but only if we are providing packing service. If we are not packing, then you will need to get supplies from a packing supplies supplier. We do carry mattress bags with us though, so we always have these with us.

  • Do you have any minimum charges?

We have a one-hour work, plus one hour travel time minimum.

  • Do smaller items matter?

Yes, they absolutely matter. In fact, smaller items often take the most amount of time to move as it equates to many trips back and forth from house to truck, house to truck.

  • Do you offer flat rates?

Only for long distance moving. All local moves are billed hourly as there are a number of factors that affect how long a move will take. These factors being how much you have to be moved, good or poor access at either location, if we need to

make a second stop in the move, the distance of the move, traffic, how.well packed and prepared you are, of you need help with dos or re assembly of furniture etc. Long distance moves are a flat rate as this is all factored in.

  • You offer flat rates for long distance moves?

Yes. We do this so you know the cost upfront. Most companies charge by weight, but this can cause some "surprising" bills. We prefer everyone to be on the same page and happy before loading up.

  • Can my estimate be off?

Yes, estimates are based on average for selected home sizes. As well as under the assumption you are packed up well with closed top boxes that stack well, organized, average access and items that require disassembly

to be done. If it's not done we can help. It just takes time.

  • Can you disconnect my washer?

There are many things we can do but unfortunately we are not able to help with any water lines.

  • Are my items covered?

Included in your rate is minimum cargo protection which is $0.60 per lb. However there is a $150 deductible per article to use this. Minimum cargo protection used when you have an alternate form of coverage or are willing to assume the

risk. We do sell coverage beyond this.

  • What options of coverage do you offer?

All three of our coverages offer up to $10 000 in coverage (See terms and conditions). There is a different deductible for each coverage, $250, $500 and $1000.

The $250 deductible coverage option cost is $500 for the move.

The $500 deductible coverage option cost is $375 for the move.

The $1000 deductible coverage option is $250 for the move.

Declining any of these coverages gives you minimum cargo protection which is $0.60 per lb with a $150 deductible. This is to be used when you have an alternate form of coverage or are willing to assume the risk.
